Traci Sill has been a Godsend for my 9-year-old daughter, Lucie. Not only has Mrs. Sill dramatically improved Lucie’s reading skills, her one-on-one attention, encouragement and positivity has completely flipped Lucie’s attitude about reading from one of dread and anxiety to one of desire and enjoyment. Lucie eagerly anticipates her tutoring sessions. The results are evident in her reading scores at school where her teacher noted that Lucie’s progress in a matter of months was remarkable, “Each time I have tested her over the past two months, her scores have steadily improved. Celebrate!” We are celebrating! Mrs. Sill is the child whisperer for children struggling with reading disabilities. She is also the adult whisperer for parents who are at a loss as to how to help their children. I cannot recommend the Learning Loft enough. Mrs. Sill has the experience, knowledge and temperament that transform struggling readers!

I am honored to share my experience working with Traci at Learning Loft Tutoring. I have to admit that I was nervous when I first began because I had spent my entire time in school struggling with reading and writing, and never had a teacher that could help with my problems. Also, trying again as an adult and not knowing what to expect just added to my nervousness. Traci understood my problems and I felt that she could help me. After a week I was already seeing progress and I began to realize how much I missed over the years. I love coming to my sessions because Traci really cares about her students. She loves teaching and it shows. I’m so happy to know her and can say that she’ has given me a lot of self-confidence. I’ll be sad when I finish with Traci but I’ll never forget how she has changed my life.

Mrs. Sill was my teacher for two fantastic, colorful years. Tutoring was also one of my favorite times together with her.

Mrs. Sill made me feel good about myself in school and during tutoring. She made learning fun and came up with a lot of good rhymes and poems to help me remember math rules. She helped me with reading by putting down color-coded posties when I said I have a connection. She would put a green posty on the page we were reading. Mrs. Sill is a magnificent teacher to work with. She deserves respect and gives it back to her students.

I really like her sense of humor. If you don’t think something is going right, she can make you feel better. If you haven’t been having a good day, Mrs. Sill is a great person to go to. But one of the best things you’ll find is that she is very observant. If you are in the right frame of mind, she’ll know right off the bat. She is intelligent and has a good heart. But this is my true feeling for her . . . my teacher Traci is beyond compare.

– A former elementary school student

Traci Sill was my daughter’s teacher for 2 years at the Woodlynde School. She also tutored my daughter for several summers while my daughter was in the Lower School there. During her time as tutor and teacher, I was continually impressed by Traci’s kindness, patience, and her ability to help our daughter learn challenging new concepts.

Traci was born to help students with learning differences.  She uses her students’ natural abilities and strengths to help them overcome their difficulties. She is a creative, effective and imaginative teacher who makes learning fun for her students.  She researched and modified various methods of teaching math concepts until she arrived at the exact one that turned on the math light bulb for our daughter. She works tirelessly to help her students succeed and they flourish under her tutelage.

Our daughter loved her tutoring sessions with Traci and emerged from each one feeling wonderful about herself and what she had achieved that day.  Several years later, our daughter still uses many of the techniques that Traci used and developed to help her with her reading comprehension and her understanding of math.

I have known Traci Sill for her whole teaching career as either a co-teaching partner or colleague and can attest to her many gifts. Traci puts her whole self into her teaching, which really motivates the students. She is organized and creates lessons that are interactive and engaging. Traci knows the research-proven strategies and materials that help students master skills in reading, writing and math and uses them with ease. She communicates well with parents and other teachers so that her students have a supportive team around them. Traci has always been a favorite teacher among her learning community,  and I know she will continue to help learners become the successful students they want to be!
